Willow&Rock

welcome to

Nevada City, California  ·  @willowandrock

Willow & Rock began as a calling. Drawn from Los Angeles to Nevada City, the draw to create something that could serve others unfolded. After two and a half years of building, the time has finally come to share it with the world. The story of Nevada City and the property run deep: Gold Rush history, the Nisenan people whose grinding stones still mark the boulders, and a creek whose waters ground and restore. Here there is room to turn inward, ground, gather, create joy, through ceremony, art, dance, quiet time on the land, or a swim in the creek. The willow bends and grows; the rock holds steady. Together they stand for stability and expansion, and for the community it takes to create both.

Rentals

Each space can be rented on its own: the Yurt, Donna’s, the Main House, the Temple, and the Flex Space. Every stay includes access to the land and the creek. We are 1.1 miles from Highway 20, just beside downtown Nevada City.

The Yurt

Sleeps 2, up to 4 on requestAsk about The Yurt

A California king bedroom set among the trees and rocks, with an en-suite bath, a Toto Washlet, and an end-cap shower whose sliding door opens to the forest for an indoor–outdoor rinse. A Frame TV, an automatic propane fireplace, and a mini-split keep it comfortable in every season. The Yurt sleeps two, or up to four with an additional bed on request; ask us for details.

Guests also have access to the Flex Space, with its full kitchen, dining area, and Electrolux washer and dryer.

Donna’s

Sleeps 3Ask about Donna’s

Donna’s is our Winnebago Porto RV, set beside the Yurt and overlooking the land and forest, and far cozier than any ordinary RV. She has full utility hookups, a memory foam queen bed, a cab-over bed for a third guest, a lounge, a full kitchen, a bathroom with an adjustable shower head, and heat and air conditioning.

Guests also have access to the Flex Space, with its full kitchen, dining area, and Electrolux washer and dryer.

The Flex Space

Hourly, when the Yurt and Donna’s are openAsk about The Flex Space

Tucked behind the garage, the Flex Space holds a full kitchen, a dining area, and an Electrolux washer and dryer. It is equally a studio for painting, sketching, pottery, woodworking, or whatever your creative life calls for. If you would like to make art here outside of a class, reach out about using our materials or bringing your own.

The Flex Space can be rented on its own by the hour when no guests are staying in the Yurt or Donna’s.

The Temple

Hourly, intention pre-approvedAsk about The Temple

The Temple stands on a natural fairy ring, a perfect circle where nothing grew, and its energy is palpable. It is the heart of our retreats and the home of ceremony, talks, psychotherapy, wellness and art classes, and spiritual and community gatherings.

The Temple can be rented by the hour once we have approved the intention for its use. Please reach out to begin.

The Main House

3 bedrooms · 3 baths · sleeps 8Ask about The Main House

Perched on massive boulders, the Main House looks out over the whole of the land and water, and the views are awe-inspiring. It began as a small cabin and grew in the late 1960s and early 1970s. We kept its original charm and paired it with an eclectic mix of old and new, where mid-century modern meets ’70s brutalism.

Inside are three bedrooms, three full baths, an open kitchen and dining area, and a formal living room with expansive windows. The house sleeps eight comfortably.

Donnie’s

Members-only events

Donnie’s, within the Main House, is a space devoted to music. It opens only for private, members-only events.

Offering

Retreats

Most retreats are led by Willow & Rock, and we also welcome collaborators: medicine, wellness, children’s, men’s and women’s, and art retreats, and more. Depending on the format and whether guests stay overnight, we can host groups of 13 or more. If you have a vision for a retreat here, we would love to hear it.

Offering

Communal Gatherings

Not every gathering needs an overnight stay. A few hours on the land can hold a celebration of life, an exchange of ideas, or whatever your community needs. Tell us what you have in mind.

Offering

Education / Classes

Learning sustains us throughout life, and it matters deeply for the young. We invite participants to arrive with open minds, step beyond what is comfortable, and meet one another’s ideas with reverence and curiosity. Topics range across medicine, art, psychology, plant and natural wisdom, consciousness, neurology, spirituality, and beyond. Your own ideas are always welcome.

Offering

Events

Beyond our other offerings, Events brings together single-day and hourly experiences across a wide range of topics and ideas, including the musical evenings at Donnie’s.

Partnerships

Four Visions

We are proud to partner with Four Visions, a home for Amazonian plant allies, ceremonial cacao, herbal teas, and altar tools. Each offering is sourced in reciprocity with Indigenous partners, who are paid fairly for their craft.

Their work carries the same spirit we hold on the land: reverence, healing, and connection to the wisdom of plants.
